Choosing Quincy Air Compressor Features To Suit Your Job

Most handymen or auto mechanics use air compressors on a daily basis, but for those of us who are looking to purchase their first compressor, deciphering the list of features can be a daunting task.  There so many different brand choices, from a Quincy Air Compressor to a Frick, but after deciding on the brand, you also have to choose the model with the features you need.  Once you have a basic understanding of the popular options, then picking the perfect air compressor will be a breeze.

One popular feature on a portable air compressor is the tankless option.  This makes the compressor less bulky and easier to move about.  Model FP2004 by Campbell Hausfeld is tankless, and also affordable, at only $89.  Another feature you may choose is a pancake model, which is much narrower than other compressors.  This allows you to fit it in tight corners.  Porter Cable model C2002-WK is a pancake compressor, and it retails for around $165.  If you still want a portable model, but need more power, then look at the Quincy Air Compressor Air Master 1.5-HP.  While a bit heavier than other portable models, it has two cylinders to give you more power before having to recharge.

Another feature to think about when choosing an air compressor is the preferred power source.  If you will be working in an enclosed area, then an electric compressor would be a good option.  An electric compressor is simply plugged into an available power outlet.  The VLF1582019 model by Coleman Powermate runs about $200, and it is electric.  If you want a bit more power in a well-ventilated area, then a gas compressor would be ideal.  Look at the Quincy Air Compressor model number G15H8PN3B, but it is pricier at $1000.  Need to travel with your compressor?  Try the truck mounted Gardner Denver model SC200, but know that the truck will have to be on to run the compressor, as it is the power source.

With so many different options to choose from, be sure that you plan ahead and know exactly how you will be using your air compressor.  Compare the different brands, such as Quincy Air Compressor, Porter Cable or Sanborn, to determine who has the best air compressor for your job and wallet.
